研究概要

社会に生きる知の創成―コミュニケーションと認知による知の創成―

人間の行動決定やコミュニケーションによる知の創成は、人間の生き方や、芸術文化、教育、経済、産業の根幹をなすこれほど重要な機能はない。この機能は脳に内在し、変化する外界との相互作用によって、能動的に獲得するものである。この知の創成の機能を明らかにするためには、脳の構成単位である神経細胞の性質を解析するだけでなく複雑システムとしてのメカニズムを明らかにする必要がある。本研究はボトムアップとトップダウンの相互作用に注目し、その記憶・記憶メカニズムを理論と実験の共同研究によって明らかにしようとするもので、新しい実験科学と理論科学の学際領域の研究に貢献するばかりでなく知能ロボットの開発をはじめ人間社会のイノベーションに貢献する。
具体的には海馬と皮質の記憶・学習システムに注目し,コミュニケーションと認知による知の創成に関する学習・記憶の情報表現を理論と実験の学際的アプローチによって明らかにする。特に学習ルール、記憶の情報表現の脳内メカニズムに重点を置く。
