Research Group on the Ethical Plane

Mankind has long wondered about the origin of self to question where we come from and where to go. Having such question in one hand, we also recognize that humans are social beings, who form complex social relationships with others and create various systems and organizations. Dynamisms of society seem exerted by the interaction of these two above mentioned aspects. It is fair to say that, conventionally, fine arts and social sciences have played the major role in deepening the self understanding of humans. However, brain science has recently begun to increase its importance in making contributions to such kind of pursuits. By incorporating firm findings and derivative hypotheses presented by brain research into arts and social sciences, the Ethical Group aims to deepen the understanding of personhood.

Adding to that, by utilizing such kind of gained knowledge for an educational practice, we also attempt to develop a type of researcher who could bring about a new sense of personhood.
